Cancellation and Refunds

Order Cancellation

VALAM ANGAADI believes in helping its customers as far as possible, and has therefore a liberal cancellation policy. Under this policy:

  • Cancellations will be considered only if the request is made within 7 days of placing the order. However, the cancellation request may not be entertained if the orders have been communicated to the vendors/merchants and they have initiated the process of shipping them.
  • VALAM ANGAADI does not accept cancellation requests for perishable items like flowers, eatables etc. However, refund/replacement can be made if the customer establishes that the quality of product delivered is not good.
  • In case of receipt of damaged or defective items please report the same to our Customer Service team. The request will, however, be entertained once the merchant has checked and determined the same at his own end. This should be reported within 7 days of receipt of the products.
  • In case you feel that the product received is not as shown on the site or as per your expectations, you must bring it to the notice of our customer service within 7 days of receiving the product. The Customer Service Team after looking into your complaint will take an appropriate decision.
  • In case of complaints regarding products that come with a warranty from manufacturers, please refer the issue to them.
  • In case of any Refunds approved by the VALAM ANGAADI, it’ll take 6-8 days for the refund to be processed to the end customer.

At Valam Angaadi, we understand that circumstances may arise requiring you to cancel an order. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

Before Shipment

  • You may cancel an order at any time before it has been shipped.
  • To cancel an order, please contact our customer service team immediately via email or phone with your order number.
  • Orders canceled before shipment will receive a full refund to the original payment method.

After Shipment

  • Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be canceled.
  • If you no longer want the items, you will need to follow our return process after receiving the package.

Returns and Refunds

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you’re not satisfied with your products for any reason, you may be eligible to return them according to the following guidelines:

Return Eligibility

  1. Time Frame: Returns must be initiated within 14 days of delivery.
  2. Product Condition: Products must be:
    • Unused and in their original packaging
    • Sealed (for food safety reasons, we cannot accept returns of opened food products)
    • In resalable condition
  3. Ineligible Items: The following items cannot be returned:
    • Opened food items (for health and safety reasons)
    • Sale or clearance items marked as final sale
    • Custom or special-order items

Return Process

  1. Contact our customer service to initiate a return and obtain a Return Authorization Number (RAN).
  2. Package the item(s) securely in their original packaging if possible.
  3. Include your order number and the RAN in your return package.
  4. Ship the package to the return address provided by our customer service.
  5. We recommend using a trackable shipping method for your protection.

Refund Process

  1. Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you about the status of your refund.
  2. If approved, your refund will be processed within 3-5 business days.
  3. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.
  4. Standard refunds include the price of the product only. Shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.

Exchanges

We currently offer exchanges only for damaged or defective items. If you received a damaged or defective product:

  1. Contact our customer service within 3 days of delivery.
  2. Provide photos of the damaged items and packaging.
  3. We will arrange for a replacement to be shipped once we confirm the issue.

Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive damaged or defective products:

  1. Contact us within 3 days of delivery.
  2. Provide your order number and photos of the damaged items.
  3. We will either replace the item or issue a full refund including shipping costs.

Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven’t received a refund after it has been processed:

  1. Check your bank account again (refunds can take 5-10 business days to appear).
  2. Contact your credit card company or bank as there may be processing delays.
  3. If the refund is still not received after checking with your bank, please contact our customer service.

Shipping Costs for Returns

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to our error (such as you receiving an incorrect or defective item).
  • If you are returning an item because of our error, we will provide a prepaid shipping label or reimburse your return shipping costs.

Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be issued in the following cases:

  • Items returned without their original packaging
  • Items showing signs of use or handling beyond inspection
  • Late returns (between 15-30 days after delivery) may receive store credit instead of a refund

Non-Returnable Items

For hygiene and food safety reasons, the following items are non-returnable:

  • Opened spice packages
  • Opened containers of dry fruits
  • Cooking fragrances that have been opened or used

Sale Items

Items purchased on sale may be marked as final sale and ineligible for returns. This will be clearly indicated on the product page at the time of purchase.

Gift Returns

If the item was marked as a gift at the time of purchase and shipped directly to the recipient:

  • The recipient will receive store credit for the value of the return.
  • The original purchaser will be notified of the return.
